SAMSUNG

Spot prices for certain Samsung consumer-grade eMMCs (4GB and 32GB capacities) have risen slightly due to insufficient supply from the manufacturer and limited spot market stock; demand for automotive-grade eMMCs has also seen a modest increase.

As for memory modules, spot prices for DDR5 remain high due to insufficient supply from the manufacturer; apart from this, demand for DDR4, DDR3 and SSDs remains relatively weak.

BROADCOM

From 1 August, China officially implemented export controls on gallium and germanium-related substances. Gallium is one of the key raw materials for optical chips, which are widely used in optical communications, facial recognition, lidar and industrial lasers. Industry insiders estimate that Broadcom, whose business is primarily focused on communications products, will be significantly affected, and that prices for its optocouplers, sensors and encoders will rise.

Broadcom’s automotive-grade components and AI chips have recently been in high demand; for example, the BCM89811B1AWMLG has risen to over US$70, whilst the SS26-0B00-02 with a short lead time is currently quoted at US$5,500.

INFINEON

Apart from the ongoing shortage of IGBTs, demand for other Infineon components has declined. Prices for the once-popular SAK series have begun to fall sharply, whilst the situation for low-voltage MOSFETs is even more severe, with significant inventory pressure on the supply side; some models have already seen spot market prices fall below wholesale prices.

LATTICE

The overall lead times for Lattice products are also improving, with most delivery times now ranging from 25 to 42 weeks. Current demand is primarily concentrated on FPGA products such as the XP2, ECP8 and ECP8. As there is little spot market availability for these products and the manufacturer’s lead times are long, supply is currently quite tight.
